Eleven Things

(via)
See that bandwagon up there?

I'm jumping on it.

My random picture:

My random things:

1. My dad knocked up the minister's daughter and I have a half brother who doesn't know I (or his father) exist. I've known since he was born (I was 11) but he has no idea. He turned 18 this past August.

2. I have never broken a bone.

3. I cannot stand the smell of cigars. It's not just that I don't like the smell, it gives me an instant migraine. The second I catch a whiff, I need to leave the area immediately or I'm done for.

4. I haven't spoken to my father in 13 years. I'm ok with that.

5. Until I was 18 years old, I moved at least once a year and I attended 8 different schools from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

6. I moved into my own apartment when I was 16 years old. I had financial help from my mother and my grandmother but I never once moved back home.

7. On the last night of our honeymoon, Ryan and I talked about how, in 5 years, we'd never had a pregnancy scare (despite not being all that careful) and how maybe we might have troubles conceiving. I was pregnant at the time of that conversation.

8. I can completely change my clothes ANYWHERE and no one would see a thing. (At least I used to be able to. In my younger years....Sigh)

9. In 10th grade an acquaintance pierced my nose on lunch break in the middle of the mall with a cup of ice from Orange Julius and a safety pin from my army jacket. It got so infected that I couldn't breath out of that side of my nose but I refused to take it out. I still have it. The infection has cleared up.

10. My mom wrote me a permission slip to get my first tattoo when I was 17 years old. It's a strawberry on my lower back right beside my birthmark - a little reddish spot in the shape of a strawberry. I cannot tell you how much it angers me that lower back tattoos are now known as 'tramp stamps.'

11. I didn't get my driver's license until last year.

Eleven Questions & Answers (Courtesy of Amy at BabyBabyLemon)

1. If you could do it over, would you change your prom date? Or whether you didn't go? We don't have prom here in Canada but I didn't go to my grad, 9th grade or 12th. I finished high school via a correspondence school so they didn't have a grad. It makes me sad sometimes.

2. What is your favourite flower? Why? I've always loved sunflowers, I don't know why. I don't really have a favourite though, I love any kind of fresh flower.

3. What is your least favourite word(s)? Ointment, panty, constipation and diarrhea. Yup.

4. What is the longest you've ever lived in a house or apartment? We were at our last house for 6 years. It was crazy!

5. What is your favourite guilty pleasures website? Shamefully, Facebook. That site is good for nothing but gossip and Scrabble. I'm also a big fan of Texts From Bennett . Silly white people.

6. What do you like to ideally eat/drink at the end of a long, hard day? It varies. Sometimes I like a nice glass of wine, sometimes something stronger, sometimes chocolate, sometimes not. I'm really not a stress eater, quiet vegetable time with my husband suits me just fine.

7. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I've been thinking about this a lot lately. And I do not know. The only place I could say with any certainty would be somewhere in southern British Columbia. The States scares the hell out of me (I don't like guns or government all up in my uterus) and I've never been anywhere in Europe, Asia, South America or Africa so I have no idea if I'd like to live in any of those places. Based on pictures? I wouldn't say no to Bora Bora.

8. What is the name of your imaginary childhood friend? I want to say Toni but I had a real friend named Toni. Given the fact that I was going to have a brood of girl-children who would all be named with Jessica or Elizabeth, I'd say either one of those is a safe bet.

9. If money were no object would you hire household help? What kind? I would. I would hire a housekeeper and an on-call chef. I certainly have the time to clean my house but I would be perfectly happy to never HAVE to clean it again. And I'd want an on-call chef who would come cook whenever the mood struck me. Ha!

10.  Stripes or plaid? Stripes. Specifically stripes on babies. Ohmahgah! Stripes on babies is my kryptonite.

11. Favourite board or card game? I would have to say Rummy. I spent many a day playing Rummy with my Grandma - she is the reason I am an undefeatable cutthroat card player.

My eleven questions for you:

1. What is the first thing you do when you wake up and the last thing you do before you go to bed?
2. Are you what you wanted to be when you grew up?
3. If you could go anywhere for a vacation where would you go? What would you do?
4. If you had 30 seconds to get out of your house and you could never go back, what 5 items would you grab? (Assuming all people and/or pets got themselves to safety)
5. Coke or Pepsi?
6. If you could stay one age for the rest of your life would you? What age would you be? Why?
7. 80s Hair bands or 90s Grunge bands?
8. What is the soundtrack of your life?
9.  Are you a morning person or a night owl?
10. What would your last meal be?
11. What was your favourite show as a child?

You're it!
