Kadyn finished up his first set of swimming lessons at the new pool. (We switched pools when we moved earlier this year) This set was also his first solo lessons.
It is truly amazing how much he has progressed in the last 10 weeks. I don't know if it's the unparented class, the new pool, the instructor, him or a combination. Regardless of what it is, it's awesome.
At Kadyn's last parent/tot lessons, he would not even try back floats, putting his head under water or blowing bubbles (I don't blame him there - blowing bubbles in a chlorine-filled pool full of baby pee isn't my cup of tea either) and he would barely do an assisted front float. Now? He is IN like Flynn! Front floats, back floats, bubbles, holding his breath, you name it.
And he really loves his teacher, too. She's great with younger children and actually pays attention to each child - as shown when she gave me his report card and had comments specific to Kadyn and his abilities rather than the generic (and often inaccurate) remarks we've had in the past.
My only complaint is that, at this age, lessons are entirely age based. That means that, even though Kadyn is ready to move on to the next level (4 & 5 beginner), he can't until he turns 4. And because he turns 4 in May, he will have to wait until next fall to move on. That means two more sets of Super 3's.
But he's having fun.....I think.
Aww I'm glad he is doing so well in swimming! Haha that last picture just cracks me up :)
